The Beginnings

MHSC was founded in September 2020 with a vision: to create a safe, supportive space for anyone struggling with their mental health. Inspired by personal experiences, MHSC was built as a community where no one would ever feel alone — a place of support, friendship, and belonging.

The community grew quickly, welcoming people from all walks of life who came together to lift one another up. What started as a simple idea soon became the blueprint for everything we’ve built since.

December 2020 — Kurt stepped in to ensure MHSC not only continued but thrived.

Kurt’s Leadership: Growth & Expansion

With a background as a trained Mental Health First Aider, Kurt took ownership of MHSC in December 2020. His passion for mental health, combined with his lived experience, drove him to expand the community beyond a Discord server and into a multi-platform support network.

Gee’s Journey: From Co-Lead to Development Leader

As MHSC grew, it became clear that one person alone couldn’t carry such an incredible community. That’s when Gee joined Kurt as a Community Co-Lead.

Her creativity, dedication, and understanding of members’ needs helped refine the structure of MHSC and strengthen the foundation of the community.

Mid-2025 — Gee stepped into the role of Development Leader, focusing on growth, innovation, and building new pathways for MHSC to reach and support even more people.

Becoming a Registered Company

August 2025 — MHSC officially became a non-profit registered company. This step ensures our community’s long-term stability and allows us to expand our resources, outreach, and impact.

From a small idea in 2020 to a thriving, multi-platform community — and now a registered company — MHSC has grown beyond what we ever imagined. Yet one thing remains unchanged:
