The Beginnings: Cian, the Father of MHSC
MHSC was founded in September 2020 by Cian, a 15-year-old with a vision of creating a safe, supportive space for those struggling with their mental health. Inspired by his own experiences, he wanted to build a community where no one felt alone—a place where people could find support, friendship, and belonging.
His efforts laid the foundation for what MHSC is today. The community grew quickly, with people from all walks of life joining in to support one another. Cian’s work in establishing a structured, welcoming, and resourceful space became the blueprint for everything that followed.
By December 2020, Cian made the decision to step away to focus on his personal life and future goals. That’s when Kurt stepped in, ensuring that MHSC not only continued but thrived.
Kurt’s Leadership: Growth & Expansion
With a background as a trained Mental Health First Aider, Kurt took ownership of MHSC in December 2020. His passion for mental health and personal experiences with it drove him to expand the community beyond just a Discord server, turning it into a multi-platform support network.
Key Additions Under Kurt’s Leadership
• Private Support Tickets – A safe space for one-on-one help.
• Private Venting Rooms – Spaces where members can share their thoughts without judgment.
• Daily Events – Bringing the community together with engaging activities.
• Social Media & Website – Expanding support beyond Discord.
• A Public Support Portal – Making mental health support accessible to everyone, inside and outside the server.
Throughout all these changes, the heart of MHSC remained the same: to provide a non-judgmental, compassionate, and empowering space for everyone who needed it.
Gee’s Journey: From Server Editor to Community Leader
As MHSC continued to grow, it became clear that one person alone couldn’t carry the weight of such an incredible community. That’s where Gee came in.
Gee originally joined the team as a Server Editor, helping to refine the structure and design of the community. Her dedication, creativity, and deep understanding of the members’ needs made her an indispensable part of MHSC’s leadership.
In 2025, Gee officially became the Community Leader, marking a new chapter in MHSC’s journey. Her commitment to creating a safe and welcoming environment has brought the community even closer together.
She embodies the very heart of what MHSC stands for, ensuring that everyone who joins feels valued, supported, and heard.
